learn spoken english



Unit – 9


This tense is used to tell about the actions to be done or performed in future. 
The following adverbs are used in this tense:
Tomorrow, the next day/morning/week/month/year, today, or any adverb of time indicating future.



STRUCTURE – 9
Basic Structure     :        Sub. + shall/will + V I form + Obj.

 




Affirmative                            :           Sub. + shall/will + V I form + Obj.
Negative                                 :           Sub. + shall/will + not + Verb I form + Obj.
Interrogative                          :           Shall/will + Sub. + Verb I form + Obj.?
Interrogative Negative          :           Shall/will + Sub. + not + Verb I form + Obj.?
Passive                                    :           Obj. + shall/will + be + V III form + by + Sub

Important:
·        Shall – I and we
·        Will – rest of the subjects

Important:

·          In spoken English ‘will’ is quite frequently used with all the subject while ‘shall’ is used in case of question with ‘I’ and ‘We’

·          In Spoken English, while speaking interrogative, we can use the following structure

Shall/will + not + Sub. + V I form + Obj.?

Will you not entertain us with your music?
Won’t you entertain us with your music?  (Colloquial structure)
Ø  Shall + not = shan’t  
Ø  Will + not = won’t
Exercise

A.   Suppose you have some work in future and ceaselessly speak those works for stipulated time following the structure i.e.
I shall support you, she will come to my house, they will not phone you, my father will gift me a laptop…..

B.    


Affirmative                            :           He will paint a picture tomorrow       
Negative                                 :           He will not paint a picture tomorrow.
Interrogative                          :           Will he paint a picture tomorrow?
Interrogative Negative          :           Will he not paint a picture tomorrow?
Passive                                    :           A picture will be painted by him tomorrow.

Now speak sentences of Future Indefinite Tense using all these structures and the following main verb. Try using the adverbs and adjective as well.

Paint a portrait
Dislike the movie
Change plan
Part car
Call friends
Wash clothes
Have tea
Sign the papers
Debate over
Lend rupees
Teach tenses
Argue over
Translate passage
Revise the syllabus
Complain about
Scrutinize article
Rain heavily
Arrive this morning
Ban the picture
Join this club
Give up this habit
